The winter sun shone last Saturday, January 13th – and we celebrated our fruit trees with a very fabulous wassail!
Huge thanks to everyone who came along, it was wonderful to see you all. Lots of fantastic hedgerow headdress were made, apple bird feeders, lots of singing and beating of pots and pans, toast was made on the fire and lots of people were chatting, exploring the gardens and enjoying the sun.
As part of the wassailing we sang a wassail song, poured some cider on the orchard trees, put toast in the branches and made loud noises with pots and pans! Hopefully that will help a good crop of apples grow this coming year!
Our next event is Light Night on Saturday February 3rd, 6-8pm. You can drop into the gardens anytime during our opening hours , Tuesday – Friday 12-4 and Saturday 10-4; our family sessions are always on Saturday too, 10.30 – 1.
